Hello everyone,
I have been keeping really busy these days as there is just too much work. But that does not keep me away from my first love 'crafting'. And so, here I am with yet another post. I made these cute little felt pouches for all my sister-in-laws for the Indian festival of Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi as it is popularly known. I used it as a substitute for envelopes.
Yesterday, we celebrated this festival here in India. The name 'Raksha Bandhan' suggests 'a bond of protection'. On this auspicious day, brothers make a promise to their sisters to protect them from all harms and troubles and the sisters pray to God to protect their brother from all evil. Sisters tie the silk thread called Rakhi on their brother's wrist and pray for their well being and brothers promise to take care of their sister. Also, the brother gives gifts to his sister either in cash or kind.
