My Date With The Desktop Calender

A very Happy New Year to all of you!!

2013 has been pretty eventful for our blog as we started participating in craft challenges. We won quite a few of them. We met plenty of creative people and got to know them too.

Personally, I want to specially thank everyone on the design team of Simply Create Too (a special thanks to Diane) for their love, care and affection for bringing out more creativity in me. It's an absolute pleasure and a delight to be a part of this wonderful design team. Besides thanks are due to all the blogs (C.R.A.F.T. Challenge Blog, Through The Craft Room Door Challenges, 4 Crafty Chicks Blog) that gave me an opportunity to showcase my work by inviting me as a Guest Designer on their blogs.

A very special thanks to my lil sissie Tanvi for being such a support for all the blogging that I do.. oops we do, and for bringing out the best in me.

I usher in the new year with a beautiful desktop calender that I received from Tanvi as a New Year gift.
I have already placed it on my desk and I must admit that everybody is loving it!!

Tag Fold Card (Order By Client)

Hello Everyone,

As I mentioned in my last post, that along with the box , I made a matching tag-fold card. So, here it is.....

I chose the same color combination, as I chose for the box i.e. shades of blue and some pink, white and brown. But, blue is surely dominating..The card has 14 folds, 28 leaflets in total (it was the client's bestie's 27th birthday..but I some times like to add one for the future)

The cover has some corrugated sheet to give the raw look, along with the lace and a big pink glitter rose flower. I have decorated the folds with punch craft and added glitter to each fold to give that bling effect. Also, the leaflets are transparent  with ribbons attached to pull them out and have 28 birthday wishes on them..(phewww..I had a hard time searching and writing 28 birthday wishes). But I think, the hard work was paid off and everybody liked it.

Here is the picture of the box and the card together.

(Please excuse me for the blurred pictures)

Hope you guys like it too!!

Out Of The Box (Order By A Client)

Hello everyone..

I know I have been very irregular in posting on the blog these days. But as you know, holiday season is on. And so, have been completing some orders lately. Pictured below is one of my orders where my client wanted to gift something different to her bestie for her birthday. So, I made a tag-fold card (you will see it in my next post) and a matching box. The box as you can see in the pictures below is a combination of shades of blue, pink and white and so is the card..

The box has been decorated with three layers of card stock excluding the box cover and then I have embellished it with blue and pink flowers. I have used different kind of flowers and pulled them up together to form a bunch with dull green leaves and some twigs popping out from in between. The pink glitter fabric flower in the middle has been embossed by placing it a little higher. Also, the lamp post has been decorated with matching flowers and butterflies. The The pearls, laces and the silver rhinestones only add to the regal-royal look of the box. By the way pearls have been one of my all-time-favorite embellishments.

And now, hold your breath to know whats inside the box. Taaa daaaa.. open the box, and you'll find a personalized message..with some personalized tags for the birthday girl!! The tags are attached to things which signify the birthday girl or their friendship. Like..one of the tags is a miniature bottle of thumsup which says 'Thumbsup to our friendship.. and so on..I distressed the tags in pink and green color and hand wrote the messages on the tags.

The best part of making it was that the birthday girl loved the gift and when she got to know that I made it, she sent me a message too.

Hope you all like it too.

Winter Calling!!

Hellooooo Everyone!!

I'm writing this post after a long long break. As I told you assignments and presentations kept me just too busy!! But now I'm back!!

As winters have already started.. I thought I'll make a card for the same. I love this season.
For the card, I have used a lot of orange color as it is one of my favorite colors. The image is a Wee stamp named Holly (Just like my sister.. even I'm a big big fan of these lovely stamps by Sylvia). You can find her here. I have colored her with some bright colors as during winters when the surroundings are just so white..bright clothes look just so perfect. Also have added some hand made flowers and a little punched leaves. I have put her in a frame..distressed it and added a ribbon over the top. For the background, I have used a bright orange sheet and placed a floral print sheet. This card has a lot of layers.

Hope you like it!!

For the base I took a handmade sheet with a wooden feel and popped a pink colored handmade sheet over it and then added a layer of embossed tissue to go with the theme 'Layers'. I then embellished the card with pink colored flowers and added some metal flowers too and then placed some punched leaves over it. All this gave it a creeper type feel.. Also I placed the sentiment in golden so as to highlight it!! To give it a glittery feel, I made sparkled swirls all over the card.

For embellishments, feather, flowers and pollens have been used. All of which perfectly match the theme. For the base, I have used a brown handmade sheet with glitter (although, the glitter is not visible in the picture. And the second layer has a printed sheet with balloons all over (birthday theme).

Love..Hug..Kiss (Order By A Client)

Namaste Everyone!!
Yet another week full of work, work and more work!!.. But I this time I have made something extra special. It was a part of an order!!

The client wanted something extra special for her fiancee, which was to be delivered all the way to US. As, she wanted something light-weight and customized. I thought of making her a set of paper photo frames, with the theme love, hug and kiss!! Sounds so romantic!!

So here they are!!

                                        LOVE

                                                                                                                 HUG

                                       KISS

Everything has been handmade and hand-cut. The color theme I chose was pink, red and purple and a little orange. Some of the frames are also in monochromatic color combination (like the one in pink). Also I have used these colors because I really love them and also these colors symbolize love. Oohhh so much of lovey dovey talks!!..Lol..Back to the recipe. The angels, red-heart, golden hearts , golden key and arrow are all handmade and the letters handcut. I have also added golden wings so as to give that angel effect. The photos can be slided from the left-hand side. They had been clipped together like a hanging - one below the other - (But in a hurry, I forgot to click a picture).

I love hand-cut and handmade things like the angels above. It takes a little extra time but the result always makes you feel satisfied. !!

Hope you all like it!!

Babies Day Out!!

Hello Crafters,

These days I have a lot of friends and sisters who are expecting babies anytime soon!! And so, I thought of making a card to welcome the little ones in this world!!

For the card, I have used a light-pink colored handmade sheet as the base. And then added a layer of blue-printed sheet. And then topped it with the beautiful off-white lace. The wonderful image is from Wee stamps named - Wee One. It is available here http://www.weestamps.com/?page_id=27. I have colored the image is blue as well as pink (because whether its a boy or a girl..it really does not matter). I have embellished the card with pink tulips along with dull red mini rose buds along with sparkly green leaved. I also added pearls to give it a royal welcome touch. Also I placed the sentiment on a brown corrugated sheet and embellished it with some hot-pink pollen.

Sunshine Rosetta

Hello everyone!!

I'm backkkkkk from my so-called self-hibernation!!.. Work, assignments, presentations and above all the preparations of interviews for placements kept me just too busy and occupied..But I must say I really missed blogging a lot..

So, just to rejuvenate and feel better..I got back to what I love the most..'crafting'!!

So, here goes my card..

 With little sunlight!!

With full sunlight!!

I used a lovely Wee stamp - Rosetta. She is absolutely adorable. I colored her with fabercastle and staedlar water based pencil colors. I framed her with this beautiful yellow colored handmade frame and put her on a yellow shimmery corrugated sheet!! To embellish, I used pink-stoned metal flowers along with pinkish red rubber embossed flowers and pink colored pollen too. Also on the top left-hand side of the card, I pierced a golden brad (not visible) and attached a metal moon along with the pink glitter twine. I also added a little pearl on the top..just like that..

Just For You

Hello Peeps,

I'm back a little too soon (Lols) with yet another creation of mine. A really good news to share with all of you. I am a GDT at http://www.craftdoormagazine.com/ for TTCRD September 3- September 9 Challenge.  Thank you to the amazingly creative team of Craft Door Magazine for letting me be a part (even though for a very short time).

The theme for the challenge is 'Anything Goes'. So here is my card for the challenge.

For this card, I took a lovely Wee Stamp image named 'Amy'. And matched her colors with the layered background paper colors in red and purple. I also punched some corrugated heart pieced in red and purple and spread them all over the card. The tiny winy stones all over the hearts and the golden letters add the extra bling. Also, I punched and used a golden brad at the upper left hand corner of the card and added a string through it, along with hearts to make it look cute!!

Hope you all like it!!

Vintage Beauty

Hello everyone!!
Its time for a new challenge at Simply Create Too and this challenge #45 is all about Vintage (or Old). So, here is my DT card for this challenge. Although I'm a little late on putting this post on my blog. But its better to be late than never.

I have used a Wee stamp (they are all so amazing) named Hopeful. I have cut out the image and given it a vintage feel by taking brown handmade paper as a background. Also the orange-colored rose buds give it an old world charm. For embellishments, I have used brown paper leaves, off-white lace, brown clear leaves and the pearls. They all give it a vintage look. But as a famous saying says 'Old is Gold'. So, I added golden sparkle color on the border of the card.

I hope you join in our challenge this month.

Daddy's Little Girl: Flowers For You

Good Morning Everyone!!

Since last few days I have been crafting a lot. But did not get sufficient time to share it with all of you!!.. So here it is!!

It was my Papa's (Dad) birthday on the 11th of August. And because I could not be there with him. I made a card so as to cheer him up. So, I thought of making the card bright and cheerful and hence, used neon pink and neon green colors. I also added matching pink colored flowers along with blue and golden metal flowers. I love lace as it gives an extra edge to the cards and so there it is..The pearls on the top and the bottom of the card were just the perfect embellishments i could think of. But the best part of the card is the lovely Wee stamp - Spring Bringer image. Its like the perfect image (flowers from his little girl ) that I could use to make my dad's birthday card.

I also took a printout of a lovely message for Papa (it says I'm his biggest fan and yes I surely am!!) and then gave it that paper tear and irregular effect and added the lovely flowers.

I hope you all like it!!

Felt Pouches

Hello everyone,

I have been keeping really busy these days as there is just too much work. But that does not keep me away from my first love 'crafting'. And so, here I am with yet another post. I made these cute little felt pouches for all my sister-in-laws for the Indian festival of Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi as it is popularly known. I used it as a substitute for envelopes.

Yesterday, we celebrated this festival here in India. The name 'Raksha Bandhan' suggests 'a bond of protection'. On this auspicious day, brothers make a promise to their sisters to protect them from all harms and troubles and the sisters pray to God to protect their brother from all evil. Sisters tie the silk thread called Rakhi on their brother's wrist and pray for their well being and brothers promise to take care of their sister. Also, the brother gives gifts to his sister either in cash or kind.

Entered it into the following challenges:
